@ Cullen’s Youth Association, 72 Taunton Lake Rd., Newtown, CT 06470
Dates: January 27, February 24, March 24 / Time: 10:30am – 2:30pm
This is a “village style” mixed age class with age appropriate activities for all. Winter brings a wonderland of possibilities. We love making fires on top of ice, transforming into sliding otters and penguins and observing the landscape as the energy of the plants root down into earth. This winter, we will gather the 4th Friday of each month. Come see what adventures this winter has in store for us!
Rates for this 3 class session: $126 / kid if you are accompanying your child; $156 / kid if you are dropping off.
Payment Due Date is January 10th and can be made via Venmo: @visionfaerie or PayPal: visionfaerie@gmail.com . Discounts / Payment plans are available on an as needed basis.
- Check the weather before you come. We will have class rain or shine so stay informed so you have what you need.
- If we need to cancel class due to weather (thunderstorms, high winds, etc.) You will receive a text at least 2 hours before class starts. You can opt for a credit towards a future session or a refund for that class.
- The GPS takes you slightly past the entrance (or not far enough depending on which way you come from), so start looking out for #72 with the “Cullen’s Memorial” sign early. Continue straight up the long dirt road, past the lodge on your left until you get to the big open field, where we will start class with a game.
- There is a bathroom in the lodge that you can use. The outhouses in the forest do not get cleaned, it’s best to go either in the lodge or in the woods.

- If you will be late or unable to attend any class, please text your instructor to let them know so we won’t be worried or waiting for you. If you’re going to be very late, we will describe to you where we are or send someone to meet you.
- The fastest way to get ahold of Rainbow is by phone/text at (203) 494-7363. If you have any questions as you prepare for the first day, please feel free to ask.
WINTER PACKING LIST
- Lunch and Snacks! (Your kids may eat even more than usual in this active outdoor environment)
- A Full Water Bottle.
- 2 Pairs of WOOL socks (one on, one in the backpack)
- 2 Pairs of gloves/mittens *At least one must be waterproof!*
- Snow Pants (even if it’s not snowing, they will help insulate from the cold).
- Waterproof Boots (rain boots aren’t warm enough – must be insulated)
- Hat
- Warm Jacket
- Extra food! Something warming could be helpful like soup in a thermos, etc.
- A backpack to put these things in. Having a comfortable pack is essential to enjoying your day. If you carry everything in a tote on one shoulder, it can be uncomfortable and distract you from being in the moment.
