This caregiver and child style class focuses on creating outdoor opportunities to have sensory experiences and develop motor skills by engaging with real living things on uneven ground, with fresh air, natural light and the warmth of community.

It can be really hard to get on the other side of your four walls with tiny people in tow. This group is designed to be a container for you to relax into. To encourage you to get yourself and your little ones out into nature despite exhaustion, depression, toddler meltdowns and any other obstacles (tangible or intangible) that get in your way.

The class isn’t just for the babies, but also for parents to build confidence around identifying some plants around the lake (everyone will become a poison ivy ID expert so you can keep your baby safe from it, and learn some baby friendly plant allies that are right in your backyard). We’ll talk about how to dress little ones (and grown ups) in different types of weather to expand your idea of what is “good weather” to go outside in!

While the class is inclusive of all types of caregivers, a little extra attention will be given to moms having space to share what is arising within them. This is meant to be a healing and loving space for breastfeeding, bottle feeding, snacking on the run, diaper changes, diaper free time, laughing, crying, taking deep breaths and receiving some forest nourishment.

Through songs, stories, child led discovery and play, a little bit of hiking and a lot of silliness, we will find our hearts at home in the forest.
